Centenary Year 2003

The W.E.A. has been active in North Staffordshire for more than 100 years. First courses were at Tawney House in Longton. Until 2004 there was an office in Hanley called Cartwright House. Mr Tawney and Mr Cartwright were two of the very early tutors of the W.E.A.
